The Prix Italia is glad to confirm, for the third year running, the agreement with IFAD and Copeam by which a Special Prize will be awarded to the best programme in competition, able to narrate how technological innovation can improve the quality of our lives, leading to a new way of thinking and a greater well-being for people and the planet, by transforming current food systems and favouring inclusive and sustainable economic growth for a food-secure future.

 

Wars, climate change and poverty afflict agricultural communities in developing countries on a daily basis. Technological innovation can be the means for the most sustainable, resilient, equitable and inclusive development of rural communities possible. AI-powered apps that update farmers on climate change, blockchain and Web3 technologies for digital wallets enabling rural communities to receive and make digital payments, are examples of innovation initiatives that have a positive impact on rural populations and can bring greater well-being to both the people and the planet.
