Emelie de Jong is the 2024 Prix Italia President

 

Short Bio

Emelie de Jong is director of France Culture, the French public cultural radio station in the Radio France group.

 

With a passion for culture and degrees in musicology and history, Emelie de Jong has about 30 years of experience in the public broadcasting sector. Before joining France Culture, she was co-manager and programme director of ARTE GEIE, where she was in charge of the channel's editorial policy.

 

She was also responsible for the channel's broadcasting on all vectors (linear broadcasting, platforms, social networks), multilingual processing, coordination between the group's different entities and development of the European strategy. Previously, she was the Head of the Arts unit at ARTE France.

 

Throughout her career, she has driven and supported the strategy and development of cultural formats, from major documentaries to web series, including ARTE Concert, Tracks and Metropolis magazines, as well as thematical days and evenings.

 

As a Dutch-American citizen, Emelie de Jong's cosmopolitan background includes London, Paris, New York and Brussels.
