The Festival Venue.
This year the Prix Italia welcomes you in Bari, 3 to 8 October 2022!

Bari, the capital city of the Puglia (Apulia) region, is a beautiful city, rich in history and culture, with a strong international vocation and of great tourist attraction.

Rich in facilities, Bari is a traditional destination for meetings and conferences, and a centre of attraction for the development of the southern Italy, the Mediterranean area and the Balkans.

This Year's Topic.

Sustainability will be the topic of the 2022 edition of the Prix Italia.

At the international and European level, there are numerous ongoing discussions and actions on how broadcasting organisations can conduct their environmental transition. Sustainability has become a transversal issue within our newsrooms.

In this context we are honoured to introduce a new "Prix Italia - IFAD - Copeam Special Prize".

The Special Prize will be awarded to the best entry in the Prix Italia Competition, focused on issues that affect rural communities in developing countries, which may include topics such as food security, women empowerment, youth unemployment, COVID-19 impacts, climate change and adaptation, biodiversity loss, hunger and nutrition, indigenous peoples, poverty, migration and conflict.

A full Regulation will be available soon.

The Main News.

This year, on an experimental basis, all the Prix Italia competitions will be open to all broadcasters without entry fee.

It will be possible to submit a maximum of 3 programs for each section (Radio, TV and Web) of the Competition, but no more than one program for each category (each section maintains the usual three categories).

Given the constant growth of the Web competition, starting this year three separate Juries will also be formed for this section, similarly to the Radio and TV sections.

The pre-selection work of the Juries will take place online as usual. The meeting to elect the winners will be held in presence again, during the days of the Festival. However, we will contemplate the possibility of a hybrid vote for those Jurors who may have difficulties in reaching us.

How to Participate.

The Prix Italia competition is open exclusively to broadcaster organisations (both private and Public Service), producers of Radio, TV and Web programs.

If you are a broadcaster organisation, and you have never participated in our Competition before, please fill in our registration form first.
Feel free to ask for further information, by writing to info.prixitalia@rai.it.

Full Regulations will be available for download soon.

The Dates.

Programs' submissions will be open on March 10; the pre-selection works of the Juries will take place in the months of June-August (September for the Juries of the Special Prizes).

The Festival will take place on October 3-7.

You will receive further communications about the definitive schedule.
