Hildegard Knef: world star, style icon, grand dame of chanson, last German diva, opinionated, controversial, mirror and antithesis of her time. "Nureyev" is Kirill Serebrennikov's multi-award-winning ballet, which premiered at the Bolshoi Theatre in December 2017 while its creator and director was under house arrest, wearing an ankle monitor. Even before the premiere, there had been heated discussions, partly due to the open portrayal of Nureyev's homosexuality. After only a few performances, the production was cancelled and has since become legendary. In 2026, the ballet will be performed outside of Russia for the first time at the Staatsballett Berlin. The production blends opera, ballet, and drama and is a tribute to the life and career of Rudolf Nureyev.

"Oliviero Toscani. Whoever Loves Me, Follow Me" explores the life, the thought and the artistic legacy of one of the most influential Italian photographers of the twentieth century. Through an intimate and surprising account and exceptional, previously unseen testimonies, the film conveys the complexity of an author who turned photography: into a civic language, able to leave its mark on social mores, on politics and on the collective imagination. Director Fabrizio Spucches, who worked alongside Toscani for more than ten years, gathered and put in order the master's vast private archive: images, videos and unpublished materials that now become the living source of a story in which memory and the present intertwine. The film is a journey between waking life and dream, tracing the life of legendary Polish musician Lech Janerka. After an 18-year hiatus, Janerka returned with the album "Gipsowy odlew falsyfikatu", which earned five Fryderyk Awards (a Polish Grammy of sorts) in the ceremony's major categories. Blending the artist's personal reflections with archival concert footage and images spanning seven decades of Polish reality, the film creates a distinctive, non-linear portrait of an uncompromising artist and his world.

This is a ten-part drama series selected for nomination at NEM Zagreb 2025. It tells the story of a family whose life is turned upside down. Each episode explores a specific theme while also following the ongoing family storyline of the main characters. The protagonists are Hana, an addiction specialist; her husband, a secondary school headmaster; and Hana's brother Jiří, a police detective. All three are dedicated professionals who help children and adults in difficult life situations, confronting conflicts related to drugs, social exclusion and culture wars. Based on a true story, a journalist travels across Japan in the 1970s, conducting interviews with hibakusha, survivors of the atomic bombs dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, in this drama broadcast 80 years after the end of the Pacific War. The man devotes his life to the task, with the goal of collecting the "voices of August" of 1,000 hibakusha to preserve the story of their struggles for posterity. He lugs a heavy tape recorder on the road, working in isolation as those around him during Japan's post-war economic boom show little understanding of his efforts. Then he encounters one hibakusha whose vivid memories of his exposure to the bomb as a child in Nagasaki and his long recovery move the journalist deeply and renew his commitment to his project. Trees have voices and she listens. Dressed in white, an 88-year-old woman who refuses to reveal her identity rides into a jungle she purchased in Nicaragua, the size of Manhattan, where she plants one million trees. She plants not for ownership but for breath, returning oxygen to the Earth and hope for a future beyond herself. Once a princess of a fallen dynasty, a scientist and an artist, she now moves within the slow rhythm of the forest. Rather than presenting a conventional biography, the film observes her daily life, her relationship with the forest, and her belief that trees are living beings with memory, time and song. Her life seems to dissolve into the forest, while the forest becomes the place where human time meets the time of the Earth. Through long takes, natural sound, restrained narration and a contemplative visual style, the documentary explores the relationship between human beings, trees, silence, ageing and ecological consciousness. The work is conceived as a poetic meditation on life, nature and the possibility of listening again to the earth.
